Frequently Asked Questions
-
When should I place my order?
We recommend ordering early, as peony roots are available in limited quantities and ship seasonally during optimal planting windows.
Do I receive a confirmation after ordering?
Yes. You will receive an order confirmation email shortly after checkout. If you do not see it, please check your spam or promotions folder.
Can I change or cancel my order?
Order changes or cancellations may be possible before your order ships. To make changes to your order, the original order will have to be canceled and a new order will need to be placed. Please contact us as soon as possible. Once an order has shipped, changes or cancellations are not available.
How are payments collected?
We do not store payment card information on our servers — all payment information is processed securely by our third-party payment provider.
-
When will my peony roots ship?
Peony roots ship seasonally, typically in the fall or early spring when planting conditions are best. Estimated ship dates are provided but are not guaranteed and may vary due to weather and availability.
Find our Order & Distribution Schedule here.
Where do you ship?
We ship within the United States, subject to agricultural regulations. Some states or local jurisdictions may restrict the shipment of live plants.
How are peony roots packaged?
Roots are carefully packed to protect them during transit and to maintain moisture while in shipment.
What if my order arrives damaged?
If your peony roots arrive damaged, please contact us within 48–72 hours of delivery and include clear photos of the packaging and product so we can assist you.
What if my package is delayed?
Shipping delays may occur due to weather, carrier issues, or high seasonal demand. While we are not responsible for carrier delays, we will assist with tracking when possible.
-
Do you accept returns?
Because peony roots are live, perishable products, all sales are final. Exceptions may be made if your order arrives damaged.
Do you guarantee growth or flowering?
We do not guarantee survival, growth, or flowering. Plant performance depends on factors such as climate, soil, planting depth, sun exposure, and care practices beyond our control.
-
Will my peony bloom the first year?
Peonies often take 1–3 years to become established and produce full blooms. This is normal and not a sign of poor plant quality.
What growing conditions do peonies need?
Peonies generally prefer:
Full sun (6+ hours daily)
Well-draining soil
Proper planting depth (eyes just below soil surface)
Consistent watering, especially during establishment
Are peonies safe for pets?
Peonies are considered mildly toxic to pets if ingested. Please consult a veterinarian for specific concerns.

-
Are the photos on your website exact representations?
Photos are provided for reference. Because peonies are natural, live plants, variations in size, color, and bloom form are normal.
